General Online Notarizations
Remote Online Notarization (RON)
I provide fast, secure, and fully compliant Remote Online Notarizations using the industry-leading Proof platform. The state where the signer lives (or where the document will be filed) is constitutionally required to recognize compliant Tennessee notarization. This is protected by the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the U.S. Constitution and specific interstate recognition statutes in every state. However, it is always best practice check with the receiving agency to ensure they accept electronically signed and remotely notarized documents. A local county clerk's office, a specific bank, or a title company in another state can still reject a document if it does not meet their internal or local recording standards. I am happy to help confirm the acceptance of digital signatures and seals if you are unsure. All sessions are conducted via live video with tamper-evident seals and automatic audio-visual recording.
Service Descriptions
Acknowledgment – $35
The signer acknowledges that they signed the document voluntarily and for the purposes stated. This is one of the most common notarial acts and is frequently used for deeds, powers of attorney, contracts, and many legal forms.
Jurat (Verification on Oath or Affirmation) – $35
The signer swears or affirms under oath that the statements in the document are true and correct. Commonly required for affidavits, sworn statements, and certain legal declarations.
All remote sessions are performed securely through the Proof platform. You’ll need a computer or smartphone with a camera, stable internet connection, and a valid government-issued photo ID.
FAQs
What do I need for a RON session? You need a valid government-issued photo ID, a device with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. A quiet, well-lit location is recommended.
How long does a typical RON session take? The initial ID and KBA verification can take up to 5 minutes. Most acknowledgments and jurats take 10–20 minutes. Jurats take a little more time than acknowledgments because they require an oath or affirmation.
Is RON legal in my state? Tennessee RON documents are legally valid in all 50 states. However, some states and lenders have restrictions on certain document types. I’ll let you know upfront if your document qualifies.
When will I receive my notarized documents? You’ll receive your completed, tamper-evident documents via secure link immediately after the session ends.
How secure is the Proof platform? Proof uses bank-level encryption, tamper-evident technology, and full audio-visual recording. All sessions meet or exceed Tennessee’s strict RON security requirements.
Can I use my phone for the session? Yes. Most clients successfully complete sessions on their smartphones. A laptop or desktop with HD webcam and stable internet also works perfectly.
